This guide explains the EZ WAY registration and authentication process required for customers living in Taiwan to purchase items using Mercari Global Shipping.

EZ WAY (易利委) is an identity verification app managed by the Taiwanese government to streamline customs clearance procedures in Taiwan. By registering personal information such as your name and phone number in advance and completing real-name authentication, you can prove that the imported items belong to you, enabling smooth customs clearance.

You need to install the EZ WAY app, which can be installed via the following link:

After downloading the app, please follow the instructions displayed within the app to complete registration and real-name authentication.

Note: The name registered for the shipping address must match the name registered on EZ WAY exactly. If there are variations in spelling or discrepancies in numbers, customs clearance cannot be processed.

Once your order arrives in Taiwan, you will receive a notification from the customs broker (via SMS or email) as well as a push notification in the EZ WAY app. Please review the customs declaration notification shown in the EZ WAY app and tap "Confirm" (申報相符). Once this procedure is completed, customs clearance will proceed, and delivery will resume.

《Important notes》

• Simply registering for EZ WAY does not complete customs clearance. You must confirm each individual package in the app.
• Please note that if the necessary procedures are not completed, customs clearance for the order will be put on hold, and the package may be returned to Japan.
  If ordered items are returned because customs clearance procedures were not completed due to customer circumstances, we cannot issue refunds (item price, service fees, shipping fees, etc.).

Please note that if customs duties or handling/advancement fees are incurred, they will be borne by the customer and may need to be paid upon delivery or pickup.

Please check the customs website of your country/region for the latest information and use the service at your own discretion.

Note: Depending on the shipping method, the customs broker may charge an advancement fee for customs duties.

Additionally, please note that the amount declared to customs for tax calculation (the price displayed on EZ WAY) may differ from the actual amount paid on Mercari Japan due to reasons such as the exchange rate applied at the time of customs clearance.

• I completed an order on Mercari Japan with information different from my registered EZ WAY phone number or name. Can I change it?
  You can edit your phone number on the order page before the order is handed over from the Mercari Japan warehouse to the shipping company. If you need to change your name, or if your ordered order has already been handed over to the shipping company, please contact the customs broker (Jet-F) directly.

• Can customs clearance procedures be performed through methods other than EZ WAY?
  If you wish to use a method other than EZ WAY, please consult directly with the customs broker (Jet-F). Mercari Japan Customer Support cannot process change requests for this.
