How to Report Prohibited Item Listings

To ensure a safe and secure environment on Mercari, users can use the reporting feature when they come across prohibited items or activities on our platform.

We will review the contents of the reports and take appropriate actions such as deleting items or restricting account usage.

In cases that are not deemed serious violations, the seller is first informed of the rules and encouraged to make improvements.

How to report an item

Steps to report

  1. On the item page of the item you want to report, tap the three-dot menu in the top right corner
  2. Tap “Report”
  3. Select the reason for the report and enter additional details as needed
  4. Tap “Report this item”

Examples of items that can be reported

  • Counterfeit or imitation brand products
  • Items prohibited for sale in your country or region (weapons, drugs, hazardous materials, etc.)
  • Items or listings that may be fraudulent or illegal
  • Items that are ethically, religiously, or culturally inappropriate
  • Adult goods/items

Infringement reports from intellectual property rights holders or their representatives should be submitted via this form.
